Terms of service
Version 2026-07-31. Operated by Access Ledger.
What you are buying
AccessLedger runs automated accessibility tests against web pages and keeps a dated record of what those tests found. That is the whole product.
What you are not buying
We are not a law firm and none of this is legal advice. We do not certify compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, the European Accessibility Act, Section 508 or anything else, and we do not promise that using this service prevents a complaint, a demand letter or a lawsuit.
Automated testing catches roughly 30 to 40 percent of WCAG success criteria. A clean report does not mean a site is accessible and it does not mean a site is compliant. Any vendor telling you otherwise is making the claim regulators have already acted on.
Only scan what you are entitled to scan
A free scan loads one public page, once, and respects robots.txt. Scheduled
crawling requires you to prove you control the domain first. You agree not to point this
service at systems you neither own nor have permission to test. We rate limit scans and we
will close accounts that try to use the scanner as an attack tool.
Paying
Subscriptions bill monthly in advance through Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Cancel whenever you like and the plan runs to the end of the period you paid for. We do not refund part months as a rule, but if the service let you down, write to us and we will sort it out.
Your data, and data you send us
What we do with your personal data is set out in the privacy policy. When we scan your site on your instruction, you are the controller of anything personal on your own pages and we act as your processor: the data processing addendum forms part of these terms and applies automatically.
You can see what we hold, export it and ask for erasure at any time from your data page. Do not point the scanner at pages showing health, biometric or other special category data.
Liability
The service is provided as is. So far as the law allows, our total liability to you is capped at what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for legal costs, settlements or damages arising out of an accessibility complaint. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and if you are a consumer in the UK or EU your statutory rights are unaffected.
